It can be recalled that John Matthew was a student of Adamson University who went missing over a week after his intent to join the fraternity’s Zamboanga chapter.

Unfortunately, the victim’s body was found buried in a backyard of an exclusive subdivision in Laguna.

John Matthew underwent initiation but didn’t survive it and reportedly passed away inside the vehicle owned by one of the suspects.

It was also reported that a paddle was used on the victim 70 times during the initiation rites.

Tau Gamma Phi released a statement and expressed ‘disgust’ over what happened to John Matthew.

They’re also now considered the victim as their own member despite not surviving the initiation rites.

“There are not words strong enough to express our disgust and condemnation at the senseless act that led to the untimely death of Triskelion John Matthew “Matt” Salilig.” the statement reads.

“We pray for peace and comfort for the family at such a devastating loss.” they added.
