Relatives and friends of Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo’s ex-boyfriend Neil Salvacion couldn’t stop themselves from criticizing the beauty queen after her interview with Boy Abunda on February 21.
It can be remembered that Mateo claimed that she refused the wedding proposal from Salvacion who was her longtime boyfriend during that time because she wanted to focus on helping her family first.
“I think this is the first time na sasabihin ko sa TV, but he proposed to me, and I was so young that time, I wasn’t ready. I have a lot of dreams for my family and during that time he was ready to settle na and feeling niya okay na siya sa buhay. Pero ako I want to aspire to be more. Doon kami nagkaroon ng conflict,” she said.
However, the brother of Salvacion denied the claims of the beauty queen, saying that Mateo accepted the proposal of her ex-boyfriend.
The true reason, according to the brother of Salvacion was the ‘sin’ made by Mateo when she joined Miss Universe Philippines 2020.
“For the fame po, ma’am. Handang manira ng nananahimik na tao.” Salvacion’s brother said.
“You don’t have to do this to someone who has been so proud to claim you as your other half before.” he also said.
He was also wondering why Mateo never kept her mouth shut about Salvacion despite having a new boyfriend already.
Some of the relatives and close friends of Salvacion expressed support for him and called Mateo a ‘liar’ and used the name of her ex to become relevant again.
