Former Senator Jinggoy Estrada couldn’t stop himself from making fun of San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora, who recently faced controversy for allegedly ignoring the quarantine checkpoint during his visit to Baguio City.
During his live video on Monday, Estrada, who called Zamora as ‘Boy Baguio,’ said that he’s not convinced that the Mayor was sleeping during the time when his six-vehicle convoy passed the quarantine checkpoint in the city of pines.
“Siyam na kilometro pa ang layo ng triage o ‘yung checkpoint na tinatawag natin hanggang sa Baguio Country Club… Mga kababayan imposible kung talagang tulog siya o nagtutulog tulugan, imposibleng hindi siya ginising ng mga bodyguard niya dahil sinusundan na sila ng mga pulis,” Estrada said.
Zamora in a statement said that his wife was required to take because of having stage 3 cancer and they thought that Baguio City was the perfect place for his wife to stay while recovering.
The former Senator said that Zamora might be putting his wife in danger because the COVID-19 still remains in the country.
“Pumunta raw sila sa Baguio dahil magpapahinga ang kanyang asawa sa Baguio… alam mo Boy Baguio, ang asawa mo mayroon pong sakit, sinabi mo may cancer ‘yung mga tao na may sakit like cancer, diabetes, high blood, respiratory illness this people are the most vulnerable sa COVID-19,” Estrada told Zamora.
“If you are in the right mind Mr. Mayor, you should not be brought your family much less your wife to Baguio, she’s very vulnerable with condition she is right now, dapat hindi mo siya dinadala dahil isang exposure lang yan, kasi ‘yung mga taong may sakit mahina ang immune system niyan lalo na ang asawa, kung mahal mo ang asawa mo dapat pinagpahinga mo muna sa bahay niyo,” he added.
Estrada also questioned why Zamora claimed that his wife was still undergoing treatment despite his past social media post last year declaring his partner already cancer-free.
“Sinabi mo noong November, cancer free na ‘yung misis mo tapos now sinasabi mo na may medical treatment?” he asked.
Estrada also urged his political enemy to avoid using his wife’s health as an alibi.
“Mayor kawawa ‘yung misis mo, h’wag mo masyadong gamitin sa mga palusot mo,” he said.
He then mentioned how Zamora stopped his relief distribution and invited him to the police station because of allegedly violating quarantine rules.
“Ngayon ikaw naman ang hindi sumunod, Mayor ka ha alam mo na dapat ang mga rules and regulations bawat siyudad you knew you had to ask for a permit from the local government of Baguio to enter dahil alam mo na mahigpit sa Baguio,”
According to Estrada, Zamora put San Juan City in a bad light because of the actions he did.
He also blamed Zamora for what happened to the five policemen relieved from their position because of joining his convoy.
Estrada asked if the San Juan City mayor could provide the needs of the relieved policemen who only followed orders from him.
Diba dapat may privacy kayong tinawag?” he added.
Because of the security detail of Zamora, Estrada couldn’t stop comparing the Mayor of San Juan to the President of the Philippines.
According to some reports, the entourage of Zamora consisted of two police escorts, a VIP car, one van for backup, one marked police car, and one swat pickup.
“Anak ng tinapa, dinala mo na lahat ng pulis diyan sa Baguio, diyos ko, kulang nalang ambulansya para feeling President ka na,” he said.
