Senator Ping Lacson called Salvador Panelo a “lizard” after the latter interpreted the advice of the former to Vice President Leni Robredo related to her job as the co-chair of ICAD.
Lacson reacted to Panelo’s statement via tweet, saying that: “Normally, lizards aren’t known for pulling people down,”

According to Panelo, the advice of Lacson is obviously needed for a politician like Robredo, especially that she’s rumored to be the standard-bearer of the liberal party in the 2022 presidential elections.
“Ang ibig niyang sabihin ng ‘watch your back’, maraming gustong sumakay. Eh alam mo naman kung sino ang gustong sumakay. Maraming gustong manira. Sino ba yun? Eh di siyempre yun ang mga kalaban niya kung tatakbo siyang Presidente. Yan ang ibig sabihin ni Senator Lacson,” Panelo said in a radio interview with Radyo Inquirer.
“Lahat ng politiko ay they should be watching their backs at marami silang mga lihim na kaaway,” he added.
Panelo is reacting on Lacson’s advice to Robredo urging the Vice President to be careful and always “watch her back” especially that she’s now a part of ICAD.
“Ang pulis sari-saring character. She should really watch her back all the time. She should develop her own people who could be trusted… Mag-develop siya ng sarili niya within the law enforcement na pwede mag-provide ng intel info sa kanya o mag-observe ano kamalian sa naliligaw na landas na pulis,” said Lacson.
Lacson also gave his contact of advisers and experts to Robredo, saying that the VP can ask for advice to them for free.
