Renowned news anchor Erwin Tulfo expressed his willingness to make Congressman-Elect Paolo “Pulong” Duterte as the Speaker of the House believe that he could become a productive leader of the Congress.
In a post, Tulfo published a photo of Duterte with a caption suggesting that Pulong as a Speaker could fasten the process of the priority bills of the current administration.
Pulong recently got a seat in the 18th Congress, representing Davao City first district.
“PAG ITO DAW ANG NAGING SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE, SIGURADO LAHAT NG PRIORITY BILLS NI TAYAY DIGS APRUBADO ORA MISMO… parusang bitay, wala na casual worker, presyo bababa at sahod tataasan, pagtatag ng ofw, senior citizen, at disaster department, at iba pa.” Erwin Tulfo said.
“BAKIT HAHANAP PA NG IBA?” he added.
As of writing, the post of Tulfo already reached 45,000 reactions from the netizens.
Most of the comments are supporting Tulfo’s suggestion.
Tulfo’s suggestion is different from the suggestion of different political parties aligned with the Duterte administration.
However, Pulong didn’t express any intention to become the next Speaker.
PDP-Laban, the party of President Duterte was eyeing Congressmen Pantaleon Alvarez (Davao del Norte), Aurelio Gonzales (Pampanga) and Lord Allan Jay Velasco (Marinduque) to become the next Speaker.
Congressman-elect Alan Peter Cayetano of Taguig, Martin Romualdez of Leyte, Loren Legarda of Antique and Fredenil Castro of Capiz are also being eyed to replace the current Speaker of the House Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.
