A supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte criticized former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas for claiming that the Philippines is already last in the competition.
In his statement last week during the CNN Senatorial forum, Roxas said that when he was young, the Philippines was still being admired by other countries. However, he believes everything turned upside down now.
“Pinanganak ako hinahangaan tayo. Naging senior citizen ako, kulelat na tayo. Hindi ko matanggap na hanggang kahirapan na lang ang Pilipinas,” Roxas said.
Netizen Benjie Contreras commented on the viral statement of Roxas, saying that the latter should not be clueless about the real reason why the Philippines are having difficulties in progressing.
According to him, the reason why the Philippines suffered in low growth is that of the corrupt politicians who are siding with the ‘oligarchs.’
He even pointed out that the progressive era which Roxas was referring is during the time of former President Ferdinand Marcos.
Contreras blamed the ally of Roxas for the problem being faced of the country.
However, he said that the country is slowly recovering because of the leadership of President Rodrigo Duterte, the rival of Mar Roxas in the 2016 presidential elections.
