Rendon Labador reveals that his father is a former PNP general

Motivational Speaker Rendon Labador revealed that his father was a former general of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

In an interview with Ogie Diaz, the controversial influencer said that as the son of a former general, he was raised in a disciplined and strict household.

Being raised by a general made Rendon believe he was competent enough to educate the public.

“Marami po akong pinagdaanan, anak po ako ng general, PMAer, kaya matinding disiplina ‘yung in-instill samin ng mga magulang ko,” said Rendon.

He also revealed that he was taken care of by an ex-convict during the time when his father was very busy with his duties.

Veteran comedian and E.A.T host Joey de Leon used the poem created by his former co-host, Michael V., to message his critics online.

Joey reposted the poem in his tweet about the comedians receiving criticism because of their humor.

Here’s the poem he posted:
“Mahirap na ngayong magpawa.”
Marami na ngayong namumuna,
Tingin nila mas magaling sila,
Sila ang dapat narito pala!
Eh ano ang tawag sa kanila?
Kung sa lugar mo’y ang tagal mo na?
Mas kwela sila palagay nila
Ayunnnn… INGGITERO’T INGGITERA!

It can be recalled that Joey received criticism online because of his joke during one of the episodes of E.A.T, where he told one of the players of Gimme V: Laro ng mga Henyo that ‘lubid’ could also be hanged around the neck of a person.

E.A.T management then apologized for Joey’s remark, saying they were ‘regretful’ and ‘apologetic.’

“In this regard, the whole E.A.T. management is regretful and apologetic to those who were offended by the said utterance. Rest assured that we are one with MTRCB in advocating a responsible viewing experience for the public,” Jeny Ferre, the head of E.A.T creatives and production operations, wrote.

Joey didn’t make any public apology himself.

Kinokontrol lang? Lawmakers believe that someone is controlling cult leader Senior Agila

Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa believed that Socorro Bayanihan Services Incorporated (SBSI) leader Jey Rence Quilario, also known as ‘Senior Agila,’ was only controlled by someone.

In an interview, Dela Rosa said that there’s a possibility that Quilario was only being used as a front for SBSI and used his ‘divine’ reputation to gather followers.

“Sa nakita ko mukhang somebody was controlling from behind,” said Dela Rosa. “Ginamit lang ‘yung kanyang pagiging miraculous, ‘yung kanyang miraculous power to gain followership,”

It can be recalled that during the senate hearing, Quilario denied that it was his own decision to become the president of SBSI, saying that he was only pushed by its former president, Rosalina Taruc.

He also publicly denied that he introduced himself as the reincarnation of Jesus Christ.

Quilario also said that he was too young to commit the things he was accused of.

“Sana makinig po kayo sakin, hindi ko po magagawa yan [dahil] bata pa po ako, hindi nga po ako nakapagtapos ng pag-aaral,” said Quilario.

The statements made by Quilario gave a hint to the lawmakers that the leader of SBSI was possibly also being controlled.

That’s why the lawmakers urged Senior Agila to cooperate with them.

Ai-Ai delas Alas couldn’t hide her emotions after she watched the interview of journalist Julius Babao with former child star Jiro Manio.

It can be recalled that Ai-Ai helped Jiro to rehabilitate himself in 2015, but the two parted ways because of the uncooperation of the latter.

In an interview, she considered Jiro, her son, but she couldn’t accept that Jiro was not helping himself and just wasting the opportunity she gave.

However, Jiro, in the latest interview, revealed that he was already working as a co-facilitator in the rehabilitation where he was once also a patient.

“Hindi na po ako babalik sa bisyo ko, ‘yun ang pinapangako ko,” he said.

Jiro also thanked Ai-Ai for the help he received from her.

“Laking pasalamat ko pa nga po. Birthday ko po noon binati niya po ako, niregaluhan pa po niya ako ng cake. Pinapunta pa niya ako sa restaurant niya, binigyan pa niya ako ng pera,” he said.

In a video, Ai-Ai reacted to the interview, saying she was glad Jiro finally changed.

“Nagulat ako nung pumunta ako sa charity noong birthday niya tahimik lang siya, so hindi ko ine-expect na ‘ay naloko natatandaan niya pala lahat ‘yon’ so kung parang natuwa naman ako kasi parang kahit pala papaano na-appreciate pala ni Jiro ‘yung mga nangyari sa kanya noon,” Ai-Ai said.

“Doon naman sa interview nakita ko naman na okay siya and I hope Jiro na ipagpatuloy mo ‘yan maging okay ka forever and sana bumalik doon sa dati na and I hope maging tuloy tuloy na ang pagaling mo,” she added.

Ai-Ai didn’t disclose if she’s still willing to meet Jiro again.

Kyline Alcantara went viral on social media after she confronted her co-actress Mariel Pamintuan after the latter posted a blind item about a specific project she was in.

In a video she posted, Mariel talked about a certain ‘diva’ with whom she made a scene during one of her projects.

According to her, she was told by the director not to slap the said actress seriously, but she was surprised when her colleague didn’t do the same with her.

“Tapos sabi sa akin ng producer, lumapit sa akin, ‘Mariel, wag mong lalakasan, ah. Kasi nung rehearsal nakita kita, e, parang malakas yung amba mo. Parang malakas, e. Huwag mong tototohanin. Yung mukhang totoo lang, pero huwag malakas.” said Kyline.

“Yung bida talaga, G na G sa akin. Yung tenga ko, nayanig! Yung kaluluwa ko naiwan don sa set! Nagpalit na ng set up. ‘Cut!’ Nandun pa rin yung body and soul ko. Naiwan dun. Naiwan siya, na-shookt. Ganon,” she added.

She noticed the treatment between a newbie actress and the leading cast differed.

The video went viral, and it gained the attention of Kyline.

“P.S nireshoot yung sampalan scene medyo nakaganti naman ako kahit papaano,” said Mariel.

“Bakit di nyo po minention pangalan ko, madam mariel?” Kyline responded.

Former President Duterte’s sister Jocelyn Villarica passes away

Former President Rodrigo Duterte’s sister, Jocelyn Duterte-Villarica, passed away on September 29, 2023.

In a Facebook post shared by Sen. Christopher ‘Bong’ Go, the former chief executive was seen mourning his sister, who actively supported her brother on social media during his administration.

“Personal na nagtungo si Senator Bong Go kasama si Tatay Digong sa bahay ng kanyang yumaong kapatid sa Cavite. Nakasama ni Ma’am Jocelyn ang kanyang anak na si Bambino, si Vince, nurse at iba pang mga kasama nila sa bahay sa mga huling sandali nito,” Go said.

It can be recalled that Mrs. Duterte-Villarica became one of the active supporters of the former President on social media.

One of her notable posts was when she defended her brother from Regine Velasquez when the singer criticized the former President for his remarks against celebrities.

Villarica also didn’t involve herself in the job of her brother.

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) Chair, Lala Sotto, disclosed that It’s Showtime and its leading host, Vice Ganda, didn’t try to coordinate with their agency.

During the press conference about the 12-day suspension imposed by MTRCB against It’s Showtime, Sotto said that the people behind It’s Showtime, or the comedian, didn’t even reach out.

According to Sotto, their decision might been changed if the noontime show talked with them.

“No effort, no dialogues, no form of coordination or cooperation with us,” said Sotto.

MTRCB also insisted that their 12-day suspension against It’s Showtime is not that harsh as her critics claimed.

“I may add do’n sa harshness may mga gustong i-cancel na ‘yung noontime show, merong six months at may one-year, so which is harsh? We don’t want to entertain those suggestions, the board decided on its own, we don’t want to be persuade, so I don’t know what is harsh.” Atty. Paulino Cases of MTRCB said.

It can be recalled that netizens noticed Vice took several swipes against MTRCB in the past weeks.

“May mga ganyan. Kung maka-impose akala mo naman di nila ginagawa, di ba? Yung pag iba, mali. Pero kayo, hindi niyo ginagawa?!” Vice said.

Sotto then expressed her admiration to Coco Martin, who went personally to MTRCB to talk about the issue they faced after airing one of the episodes of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.

“Wala talaga kaming masasabi kay Coco, I’m such a fan,” she said.

Lala Sotto refuses to resign after It’s Showtime suspension: “I’m not going to satisfy the whims of my detractors”

The Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) Chairperson, Lala Sotto, ignored the calls of some netizens who wanted her to resign.

In a statement, Sotto on September 28 denied the accusations that she favored the show of her father, Tito Sotto, E.A.T., by removing one of its competitors, It’s Showtime.

“I truly believe my being a Sotto or my father’s daughter should not be taken against me,” said Sotto. “Instead, it should be taken positively that I am someone who grew up in the industry, I am someone who loves the industry, and understands the industry.”

While she respected her critics’ opinions, she said she would refuse any calls for her resignation.

She believed that even her resignation would not make her critics happy.

“I’m not going to satisfy the whims of my detractors,” she said.

Sotto also added that she’s already used to being criticized.

Meanwhile, she clarified that there’s still a chance for It’s Showtime to file a Motion for Reconsideration via the Office of the Presidential Legal Counsel, which was being led by Juan Ponce Enrile, who’s a critic of Vice Ganda.

It’s Showtime, has 15 days to appeal their decision.

Bong Revilla asks the Office of the President to consider It’s Showtime’s appeal: “I think lesson have been learned”

Senator Bong Revilla asked the Office of the President (OP) to consider the affected workers of It’s Showtime that would be affected by the 12-day suspension imposed by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB).

MTRCB, an agency under the Office of the President, denied the Motion for Reconsideration filed by It’s Showtime on September 28.

According to Revilla, OP should also think of the affected workers who would receive no pay because the show was not aired on television.

“Without getting into the merits of the case, sana na-consider ng MTRCB ang kapakanan nung mga maliliit na staff at crew nung show na wala namang kinalaman at kasalanan dun sa nangyari,” said Revilla.

“Sila yung mga ‘no work-no pay’ na kung matutuloy ang suspension ay dalawang linggong walang kikitain at kakainin,”  he added.

It’s Showtime was currently being aired online, which MTRCB had no jurisdiction over.

“Kung nagkaroon man ng pagkakamali, ang kasalanan ni Juan ay hindi kasalanan ni Pedro. So I hope we don’t punish those working hard day in-day out just to make out a living,” the actor-lawmaker said.

As of writing, OP has yet to give any response to the pleas made by Revilla.
