Former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson made a plea to two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo.

In an interview on Tuesday, Singson said that his offer to give P5-M to Carlos in exchange for the latter reconciling with his family, especially Angelica Yulo, was still open.

According to him, he wanted Carlos to become a good role model.

However, Singson admitted that they were having difficulties reaching Carlos.

“Wala. Walang maka-contact sa kanya, eh. Pero kinu-contact ko na siya lang kaya nakikiusap ako kay Caloy na ipakita niya na ngayon champion siya,” said Singson.

“Naka-gold siya, ipakita niya na siya ang ano, role model, of the family. Eh, ‘di maganda ‘yung pinapakita niya kung hindi siya makipag-reconcile sa pamilya,” he added.

Before he ended the interview, Singson also reminded Carlos about the importance of having good terms with family.

“Caloy kung nakikinig ka man, nakikiusap ako, kausapin mo pamilya mo, ‘wag mo na sila pahirapan dahil ‘yang gold na nakuha mo, hindi lang para sa’yo kundi para sa lahat, specially your family. Wala kang pinanggalingan kung hindi sa mga family mo,” he said.

“Kung ano ang mga nangyari, patawarin mo na sila. Bilin din ng Diyos ‘yan, forgive your..magbati lang sila, okay na, bigay ko sa kanya P5 million,” he added.

The partner of one of GMA Network’s independent contractors, who was accused of taking advantage of Sandro Muhlach, appealed to the public.

In his social media post, Ryan Benitez asked the public for compassion amid the criticism Jojo Nones is receiving from netizens.

Paolo Contis received tremendous criticism from the Filipino Christian community after GMA Artist Center announced his new movie, ‘Dear Satan.’

The movie, which was also directed by child star Sienna Stevens, raised the eyebrows of netizens because it portrayed Paolo as ‘Satan.’

The film was about Satan, who received a letter from the character Chichi, who Sienna portrayed.

Believing that he could get Chichi’s soul, Satan disguised himself as Santa to influence the main character.

Filipino-American gymnast Levi Jung-Ruivivar expressed her joy after she was informed about the invitation sent to her by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

In her post, Levi was thankful that she would be invited to the Palace, saying that it was one of her dreams.

“Heading to Manila to meet the President! What an honor. Thank you to the president and his office for making this dream come true. Can’t wait to see everyone,” she said.

The Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) President Cynthia Carrion also reportedly told Levi that the event was exclusively for Olympic medalist athletes.

One of the members of the transgender trio ‘Miss Tres’ passed away on August 18, 2024.

The sad news was confirmed by the remaining member of the group, Mariko Ledesma.

“Rest ka na Angel,” she wrote.

As of writing, the cause of Angel’s passing has yet to be announced.

Angel was the second member of the group who passed away.

In 2018, one of its members, Mia, also made an untimely passing due to lung cancer.

The trio became popular for their surprising performances at Pilipinas Got Talent, Asia’s Got Talent, and Britain’s Got Talent.

They were known for their talent in singing in both male and female voices.

According to him, he used to crave expensive canned goods but couldn’t afford them in the past because they were poor.

“Ito kasi yung mga pagkain na paborito ko noong bata pa ako. Gusto kong matikman, masarap yung Delimondo, Cadbury chocolates. Minsan may gourmet tuyo pa, Korean noodles,” he said.

“Ito yung mga paborito ko so bakit hindi ko ipatikim sa mga kababayan ko? Naghihirap na nga, e, minsan nasusunugan, minsan nababaha, sardinas pa ang ipapatikim sa kanila. So, kung makakaya ko naman, ibibigay ko yung minsan lang nila matikman,” he added.

Two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo was excited to see his friend and fellow Olympian EJ Obiena.

In an interview with GMA Network, Carlos said he was excited to see EJ, as they hadn’t seen each other for a long time because of their hectic schedules.

“Excited akong makita si Kuya EJ. Patalon-talon po ng bang country hindi ko po gaano nakikita. Nung nakita ko andami kong tanong, kumusta po?” ani Carlos.

Carlos also said he was proud of EJ as the latter did his best during the men’s pole vault event despite his physical problems.

He also respected all athletes who represented the country during the Olympics.

Carlos and EJ became popular after they represented the Philippines at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games and 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

EJ was one of the strong contenders for a medal finish at the Olympics, but his physical problems, which forced him to undergo several medical procedures, added to his struggles to perform fully.

Despite placing fourth at the Olympics, EJ was still the number three among all men pole vaulters worldwide.

Comedian Vice Ganda denied that she was picking sides on the issue between the two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo and his mother, Angelica Yulo.

It can be recalled that during the episode of It’s Showtime, Vice gave his opinion on feuding children and parents, saying that it would be impossible for someone to leave their family permanently.

“Mahirap ‘yung hindi ka okay sa family,” said Vice. “Napakahirap na problema niyan, yan ‘yung problema na hirap na hirap kang solusyunan at gawan ng paraan,”

“Parang kung iisipin mo mas mahirap pa ‘yan sa makakuha ng gold sa Olympics,” he added.

After receiving criticism from his fans, Vice tried to clarify several things, saying that he was not validating other people’s opinions about family problems.

He also denied that he was siding with Carlos’ mother.

“Ha?! Saan galing to? Never akong angbigay ng opinion ko tungkol sa issue ng pamilyang yan dahil mas gusto kong icelebrate ang tagumpay ni Carlos Yulo kesa makisawsaw sa eksena ng pamilya nya,” said Vice.
