The President of the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP), Cynthia Carrion, revealed that Chloe San Jose was involved in organizing Carlos Yulo’s engagement in the country after he won two gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In an interview with DWIZ, Cynthia said that Carlos asked her to become his manager, but she refused due to her lack of expertise in legal contracts.

“Anything with contracts, I’m not a lawyer; anything that has to do with contracts, we are giving it to a professional,” she said. “Anything that is going to be given or interviews passes through me,”

“We have a [group] chat, Carlos, me, Chloe, and the manager, the professional manager,” she added.

It’s not yet known what was Chloe’s role in the said group chat with Cynthia and Carlos’ professional manager.

It can be recalled that Carlos was currently being swarmed by endorsements, interviews, and other engagements, which was believed to be a reason why he couldn’t reach his family.

Carlos reportedly gained more than P100 M in rewards after winning the gold medal, which required him to accept the pledges personally.

Carlos was also expected to be featured in many advertisements, which would make him busy as making commercials take days to film.

Comedian Vice Ganda shared his thoughts about the situation of a participant in It’s Showtime’s segment, EXpecially For You.

During the said episode, Vice described the rift between a child and their parents as problematic as getting a gold medal at the Olympics.

“Mahirap ‘yung hindi ka okay sa family,” said Vice. “Napakahirap na problema niyan, yan ‘yung problema na hirap na hirap kang solusyunan at gawan ng paraan,”

“Parang kung iisipin mo mas mahirap pa ‘yan sa makakuha ng gold sa Olympics,” he added.

The participant then said that it may be impossible for some families to be whole again, saying that some parents even make some efforts to prevent their children from growing and succeeding.

However, Vice insisted that no children could leave their family permanently.

“Hindi ako naniniwala na you can let go of your family. May punto na kailangan mo ng time out. There will come a point na you will have to go back home, there will have a point that you will have to talk to them again,” he stated.

Somebody needs to remind Vice Ganda that not everyone has a relationship like she has with her Nanay

The Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) President Cynthia Carrion said that Carlos Yulo was supposed to reconcile with his mother, Angelica Yulo, but was postponed after their family issues were publicized.

In an interview with DWIZ, Carrion said that Carlos was very disappointed when his mother talked to the media about their issues and even thought Mrs. Yulo wanted him to lose the competition.

“We are wondering why, in his stage of winnings, they will come up with media saying things against him. Carlos is just wondering, and we were wondering why? Carlos thinks that his mother wants him to lose,” she said.

Carrion said that she was trying to convince Carlo not to think badly of his mother anymore, and she even made efforts to let the mother and child talk to each other.

“I’ve been trying to talk to the mother, I’ve been trying to make her reach out to her son and I’ve been trying to talk to Carlos to reach out to his mother. I want them to be talking, I want them to be a family,” she said.

However, Carrion believed that as long as the media followed the issue, a reconciliation might be difficult for Carlos.

“Carlos has his own reasons, the mother has her own reasons. If I could talk right now, I will tell but I don’t want to make the fire bigger, but I am on Carlos’ side.” she said.

“It has to come from him.. it has to come from his heart. As soon as he’s ready, he will do it… and Carlos is already thinking about it,” she added.

She also asked the Yulo family to stop taking a swipe against Carlos.

So we would like people to… I mean the family not to come up with things in the media to make it big bigger. That’s all he (Carlos) wants.”

Gerald Santos admitted that a GMA Network musical director took advantage of him when he was 15 years old.

During the hearing led by the Senate’s Committee on Public Information and Mass Media, Gerald became emotional while trying to admit that he was successfully touched by the unnamed musical director while still working on GMA Network.

The “Pinoy Pop Superstar” grand champion was only told by the people connected to the musical director to move on and told him that it was only a normal occurrence in the industry.

“For 19 years kineep ko lamang ito dahil sa takot ko nga po, sa kahihiyan. Hiyang-hiya po talaga ako lalo na noon dahil ‘yung grupo na nasa loob ay parang dini-dismiss lang nila ‘yung sinabi ko, na parang mag-move on ka na lang kasi kalakaran ‘yan dito,” said Gerald.

“I was only 15 years old at that time your honors kaya wala pa po akong lakas ng loob noon. Contestant pa lang po ako noon. Kaya di ko nasabi agad… Sa parents ko na iyak nalang ng iyak. Kinamatayan na ng lolo ko sa sama ng loob nya kasi di po ako nabigyan ng katarungan po,” he added.

Instead of receiving help, Gerald said he lost many projects, forcing him to go to another network.

Jinggoy Estrada, na-bad trip kay Sandro Muhlach dahil ayaw nitong magsalita

Senator Jinggoy Estrada couldn’t hide his irk after Sandro Muhlach repeatedly refused to reminisce about the incident between him and two GMA Network independent contractors.

During the hearing on the Senate’s Committee on Public Information and Mass Media, Estrada asked Muhlach to narrate what independent contractors Jojo Nones and Richard Cruz did to him that night.

Muhlach refused to talk about it due to the topic’s sensitivity.

“Hindi ko po pwedeng sabihin ‘yung mga details kasi it’s really sensitive,” said Muhlach.

“Sige na sabihin mo na,” Estrada responded.

Muhlach’s lawyer intervened and explained that Nones and Cruz have yet to receive a formal complaint from their camp.

She also explained that talking about the incident may not be good for her client’s mental health, who was still recovering from the incident.

Estrada was visibly upset and frustrated with Muhlach’s camp.

“Alam niyo pag hindi natin tatapusin ‘to. Hahaba ng hahaba ito. You are wasting our time here,” said Estrada.

“Magsasalita ba kayo o hindi? Kung hindi aalis na ko dito,” he added.

The lawmaker received criticism from the netizens, who called him insensitive for forcing the victim to speak about his bad experiences.

Senator Jinggoy Estrada raises voice, displays annoyance and unpleasant reaction when Sandro Muhlach begged off not to disclose details about his traumatic ordeal because it was still triggering him, requests for executive session instead.

Fil-Am gymnast Levi Jung-Ruivivar had no choice but to defend herself after the Gymnastics Association of the Philippines (GAP) President Cynthia Carrion called them ‘liars.’

It can be recalled that Levi, together with other Philippine representatives, Emma Malabuyo and Aleah Finnegan, were absent during the Heroes’ Welcome organized by Malacanang for the Filipino athletes who joined the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Emma and Aleah claimed they were not informed about the event, where non-medal athletes like them were given P1-M.

However, Carrion insisted that she had no reason to invite the three because they were not in the Philippines at that time.

“They were not around. Those two people, they were not here [in the Philippines].” said Carrion. “So why would we invite them? They were still flying,” said Carrion.
“We did not know about it in the last minute only, we never even knew that there was gonna be a parade and they were not here. Why would we invite them?” she added.

However, the chat history between Levi and Carrion tells a different story.

In the conversation, Levi could be seen asking Carrion about the event, but the official told her only the athletes who received a medal during the Olympics were invited.

However, Levi was surprised when she watched the actual event, realizing that all the athletes were there except her, Emma, and Aleah.

“I was really hurt considering this was a once in a lifetime opportunity I missed out on. I wanted to be part of the celebration with my fellow Olympians and to share in the excitement of the success of this Olympics with my country, the Philippines. I truly wish I could have gone considering I have sacrificed endelessly to perform for my country and to make everyone proud,” she wrote.

As of writing, Carrion who admitted that she was too busy taking care of two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, has yet to give a response to Levi.
