“Nakuryente?” Sen. Drilon apologizes to BCDA chief Dizon after claiming that the designer of the SEA games cauldron is the latter’s father-in-law

Senator Franklin Drilon apologized to Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) Chief Vince Dizon after he claimed on national television that National Artist Bobby Manosa is the father-in-law of the latter.

In an interview with ANC, Drilon claimed that Dizon is related to Manosa who designed the controversial P50-M Southeast Asian (SEA) games cauldron.

“I hate to do this because Bobby Manosa is a revered and respected architect, national artist, but Bobby Manosa also happens to be the father-in-law of Vince Dizon,” Drilon said.

“I’m not implying anything, except that there’s no bidding,” he added.

Drilon said that he would let the “people decide” if they’re going to think if the process to construct the cauldron is inappropriate or not.

“The point is, the father-in-law of Vince Dizon who’s in charge of the facility, the New Clark City sports facility where the P50-M kaldero was constructed, the artist of the kaldero, the designer of the kaldero for 4.4-M is his late father in law,” he said.

However, after the interview, Drilon apologized to Dizon saying that what he claimed earlier is wrong info.

“I would like to correct my statement in Headstart this morning about the relationship of the architect who built the SEA Games cauldron, the late Architect Bobby Mañosa, and BCDA Pres. Vince Dizon. They are not related. I was wrong in my information. I apologize to Dizon,” Drilon said.

Drilon is one of the politicians who questioned the spending of the government for the SEA Games.

He even called the cauldron built by the government for the SEA games as “extravagant”, saying that it could already build 50 classrooms.
