Actor Enchong Dee couldn’t hide his disappointment on social media after he reacted on a certain issue related to the government.
On a Twitter post, Dee described the current situation of the country today as “divided”.
He said that people seem to choose to end the democracy of the Philippines than ending an administration which probably the current admin under President Rodrigo Duterte.
Dee also claimed that the people are being tricked, however, Filipinos are still trying to defend the wrongdoings of the government.
“It’s easier to ignore the end of our democracy than the end of an administration. We’re so divided as a nation today. Harap harapan na tayong ninanakawan at ginag*g* pero bakit pinagtatangol natin yung mali. Anyare Pinas? #BatobatoSaLangit” Dee said.
The actor made the said tweet a few days after Senate Minority Floor Leader Franklin Drilon questioned the amount spent by the government on constructing the Southeast Asian (SEA) games cauldron.
The cauldron worth P50-M was described by Drilon as “extravagance”.
“P55 million is an extravagance that is so unnecessary and somebody has to answer for this,” Drilon told reporters.
“’Yung isang silid ng paaralan P1 million, ito 56 na silid-paaralan ang nabuo sana kung hindi ganito kalaki ang pangaabuso sa pondo ng taumbayan.” he added.
Drilon also questioned how the government would maintain the other facilities built by the government for the SEA Games, pointing out that other countries who built stadiums and other infrastructures to host a sports event were neglected.
According to Drilon, he would call for an investigation to see if the government really spent the money intended for SEA games correctly.
The said cauldron is one of the last works of the late national artist for Architecture Francisco “Bobby” Mañosa.
