A netizen called out House Private Prosecutor Atty. Virgil Ligutan after the latter posted a story about how the crew of flight number 5J 564 gave him gifts and thanked him for still undisclosed reasons.
“Yesterday, while dozing off on my flight from Tacloban to Manila for another event, a flight stewardess gently tapped my shoulder and handed me a paper bag filled with food refreshments. With a kind smile, she said, “Thank you sir.,” Those few words meant a lot,” said Ligutan.
“Maraming salamat sa flight crew ng Cebu Pacific Flight 5J 564!” he added.
However, netizen Jethol Paanod said that flight 5J 564 was not currently assigned from Tacloban to Manila and was instead flying from Cebu to Manila.
“You never boarded 5J 564 TAC-MNL because that flight is CEB-MNL. The story never happened. Falsus in uno, falsus in omnibus,” he wrote.
The claim was supported by the data from different flight tracking websites, confirming that 5J564 was assigned to the CEB-MNL route since August 20, 2026.
LIGUTAN SILENTLY CORRECTS HIS POST
Several hours after he posted the story, Ligutan edited his post and changed the details of the flight number, making it 5J 654.
According to flight tracking websites, the said flight in the edited post is indeed assigned to fly from TAC-MNL.
As of writing, Ligutan has yet to give details on the corrections he made.
