Several residents of Davao del Sur couldn’t hide their disappointment towards their congressman after the latter voted for the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte.
In a video published by Brigada News Davao, some men could be seen destroying the tarpaulin of Digos City Representative Tracy Cagas.
Cagas was the only lawmaker from the Davao region who supported the impeachment of Duterte.
Even Cagas’ social media page was swarmed by his constituents, who were disappointed by his decision.
“You should have consulted your constituents. That’s a wrong move sir. No votes for you and for all members of the Cagas family. You represent Davao del Sur,” netizen Zelrach told Cagas.
“I am ashamed of congressman cages voting for your impeachment. His vote does not represent his entire constituency. He may have betrayed you but we, davsuranan support you all the way! naulaw ko nga ako taga davao del sur. Our apologies,” netizen Divino remarked.
As of writing, Cagas has yet to give a statement on why he decided to vote in favor of Duterte’s impeachment.
Davao region was known to be the bailiwick of the Dutertes and it was evident after 12 lawmakers refused to sign the complaint against the Vice President.
Even the known political rival of Duterte, PBA partylist Rep. Margarita Nograles, didn’t sign the complaint.
