Some attendees of the rally organized in support of the impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Duterte were disappointed as they didn’t receive the money promised to them in exchange for being present at the event.
In an interview, some senior citizens claimed that they were offered P1,000 by their community leader just to attend the rally.
“Isang libo po bawat isa,” one of the attendee said. “Pagkain mo na, pamasahe mo na, doon mo na lahat kukuhanin,”
“Ngayon wala pa po, hindi po namin kung papaano,” she added.
Another attendee wished they would recover even the fare they spent attending the event.
Meanwhile, the Magdalo Group, which organized the event, denied that they were behind the P1,000 promise to some attendees.
It can be recalled that Magdalo Group member former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV claimed that 40,000 people attended the rally.
Trillanes also said they were already planning another rally to convince Congress to push for the impeachment of Duterte.
However, some experts doubt that lawmakers would push for the impeachment of this 19th Congress as President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr already said he would not support it.
Some lawmakers also said that they would prioritize other bills first.
