It can be recalled that Recs Akmad, one of the motorcycle riders who performed a Superman stunt last weekend in Marilaque, was facing multiple charges for his stunt, which resulted in the demise of his friend and moto vlogger John Arguelles and several bystanders.

In a Facebook post, Akmad’s group mate, Harold Aratan, confirmed that the rider already settled with the family of Arguelles and others involved in the incident.

“And to all the friends and those who are concerned about the accident that happened in Marilaque, particularly in Manukan, we ask for everyone’s patience, and to those who have been hurt, we have reached an agreement with the victims and settled everything at the Tanay police station, thank you for understanding,” said Aratan.

Akmad also released a public apology to reaffirm the settlement between him and Arguelles’s family.

As part of the settlement, Akmad vowed to shoulder all the funeral expenses of Arguelles, and also the hospitalization and medication of the other parties involved.

However, reaching an agreement doesn’t mean Akmad was already free from his criminal liability, as it only removed the suspect’s civil liability.

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) on Tuesday confirmed that Akmad would face both criminal and administrative charges for his role in the incident.
