The vocalist of the International band Journey, Arnel Pineda, shared how important it is for children to love their parents.
In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Arnel believed people should love their parents as soon as possible because they were not replaceable.
It can be recalled that Arnel lost his mother when he was just 13 due to an illness, which also put their family deep in debt.
“Iisa lang ang nanay at tatay. Nakikita niyo minsan napapabayaan niyo siya or tine-take for granted niyo lang sila, mahalin niyo sila hangga’t meron kayong chance na mahalin sila,” he said.
“In a wink of an eye, baka bigla silang mawala kaya kailangan walang pagsisisi or walang panghihinayang na sana ginawa ko ‘to sa nanay ko,” he said. “Sana sinabi ko ‘to sa nanay ko. Sana niyakap ko ‘yung tatay ko ng ganon. Na sana nagpasalamat ako sa kanila kasi mahal na mahal nila ako,”
According to him, the best time to love their parents was now.
“Wag na kayo magpasubali pa or wag na kayo mag-delay. Right now mahalin niyo na agad sila kasi talagang iisa lang sila,” he stated.
Arnel’s statement received praise from the netizens, especially from parents.
