It seems that Carlos Yulo was not the only gold-medalist gymnast who was facing family issues.

According to the reports, Shannon was asking her daughter for a reconciliation after she abandoned the latter due to her vices.
“It was hard to give up my kids, but I had to do what I had to do. I wasn’t able to care for them. I was still using, and [my father] didn’t want me coming in and out of their lives when I wasn’t right,” said Shannon.
“I want her to reach out to me. She’s 27 now. She’s married. I would have liked to have been a part of that, but I just have to wait for her. You can’t push anybody,” she added.
While she knows Simone’s contact number, Shannon believes that it would be better if the gymnasts contacted her first.
“It hasn’t happened yet, but I have patience. I’m waiting on her,” she added.
Simone was considered one of the greatest women gymnasts of all time, winning many competitions, including 11 Olympic medals.
