Vice Ganda revealed that Awra Briguela’s father, Oneal Brian Briguela, asked him not to quickly free the actress after she caused a commotion in Poblacion, Makati City, last year.
In an interview, Vice revealed that Oneal asked him to let Awra stay behind bars longer to teach her a lesson.
Vice described Mr. Briguela as a father who would not tolerate the wrongdoings of his children.
“Alam mo ang hirap-hirap sa posisyon ko noong mga panahong kinakausap ko kayong dalawa, kasi ‘yong tatay niya hindi kunsintidor na tatay. Hindi siya ‘yong tatay na lalapit sa akin para sabihing ‘Meme, ilabas mo ‘yong anak ko sa kulungan, Meme, pakiayos naman si Awra, Meme tulungan n’yo po si Awra.'” said Vice.
“Ang tatay niya iba ang atake, ang sabi niya sa akin, ‘Meme, ang pakiusap ko huwag mo muna siyang ilabas. Alam kong tutulungan mo siya, pero ‘wag mo muna siyang ilabas. Kasi gusto ko maranasan niya ‘yong hirap doon para ma-realize niya.’” he added.
The comedian told Awra that his father wanted her to realize the effect of her actions.
It can be recalled that the said incident almost ended Awra’s career as CCTV footage released by the establishment showed his other personality behind the camera.
Awra revealed that she already settled the issue with the other camp privately, but still, she released a public apology to show that she was sincere in her apologies.
