Actress Rita Avila gave her thoughts on the major deal between ABS-CBN and ALLTV.
It can be recalled that ABS-CBN and ALLTV executives signed a contract to air TV Patrol and other shows of the Kapamilya Network on the station owned by the Villar family.
However, some ABS-CBN fans were not happy with the deal and even reminded the public that one of the officials of ALLTV, Camille Villar, voted against the franchise renewal of Kapamilya Network.
However, Rita believed that both networks swallowed their pride for the better.
According to her, people must be grateful for the deal as both networks humbled themselves.
“Dahil sa business, naglunok sila ng pride. Inakap ang umaway. Inakap ang nang-away. OK na yan. Let us be grateful. Ang dami ng gyera. Isang araw tayo na ang mapuputukan. Away pa more?” she stated.
In 2020, Villar voted to reject the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN together with 69 other representatives.
During the same year, Villar’s ALLTV acquired the channel two frequency previously used by ABS-CBN.
Ironically, ABS-CBN will now return to Channel 2 starting next month, but this time, the Villars will still own the frequency, and the shows will still be aired under the name ALLTV.
