Television host Cassy Legaspi was added to the watchlist of netizens after Darren Espanto made a statement about their relationship.
In the interview, Darren set the record straight to their fans, saying that he and Cassy were only “best friends.”
“Makulit sila. Sabi namin, best friends lang kami ni Cassy. Best friends talaga,” said Darren. “It’s something a lot of people won’t get,”
“Hindi ko alam paano i-explain pero siyempre, nand’un ang pagmamahal namin para sa isa’t isa,” he added.
The public denial made by Darren raised the eyebrows of the netizens and their speculations were fueled after Cassy posted a cryptic story on her Instagram page.
In her Facebook post, Cassy posted a song by international pop singer Olivia Rodrigo about a toxic ex-boyfriend.
The song was also about a girl who was allowed to be treated badly just to stay with her boyfriend.
Aside from Cassy, her mother, Carmina Villaroel also captured the attention of the netizens after she posted a mysterious message on her social media page.
As of writing, netizens were waiting for Darren would respond to the mysterious message published by Cassy and Carmina.
Cassy and Darren first met on ASAP Natin ‘To in 2015 and have become close friends since then.
Rumors about their relationship started to circulate in 2022 when they started to exchange sweet messages together.
