Co-host ni Cristy Fermin na si Wendell Alvarez, naniniwalang hindi magtatagal ang It’s Showtime sa GMA Network

During the April 6 episode of “Showbiz Now Na!” Wendell said that the contract between It’s Showtime and GMA would only last for 3 to 6 months as the Kapuso Network wanted to see if the Kapamilya show’s performance would be consistent based on their satisfaction.

Wendell also believed that Vice would never last for long on GMA Network.

“Sa tingin ko parang hindi siya magtatagal,” said Wendell. “Siguro pinapabayaan lang muna sila, sige ibibigay namin sa inyo ‘to, gusto niyo ‘yon eh,” he said.

In another report written by Entertainment writer Salve Asis, she disclosed that GMA Network allegedly has the power to terminate the contract between them and It’s Showtime at any time.

It’s Showtime also reportedly only received a six-month contract, which was renewable.

“Totoo bang may option diumano to terminate ang GMA 7 sa contract nila? Or totoo rin bang six months lang ang contract nila sa GMA pero renewable?” she asked.

Meanwhile, It’s Showtime’s pilot episode on GMA Network was considered a tremendous success as it surpassed TV5’s Eat Bulaga when it comes to social media viewership and advertisement.

Experts also believed that GMA Network would not remove It’s Showtime as it was the only fitting competitor of Eat Bulaga as television host Willie Revillame also decided to join TV5.
