The ‘Queen of Bangsamoro pop’ Shaira Moro was facing another copyright issue for her other song ‘Forever Single.’
Several X users noticed that another popular song made by Shaira was copied from the Indonesian Band Papinka’s song, “Masih Mencintainya.”
According to them, the composer of “Forever Single,” didn’t even try to ask for permission before using the sample of the song.
Some of them also criticized the lyrics of the song, which, according to them, created a stigma for people who refused to be married in their late 20s.
“The lyrics may be light-hearted but the message is yuck and outdated. It implies that singleness is a curse. My more broad-minded friends, both single and married, will surely object,” a netizen said.
“Wow the lyrics are even off. Yun na yun? Definition natin sa isang pagkatao magjowa before 30 or magsisisi ka?” another netizen commented.
However, some fans reminded the critics that Shaira’s local fanbase was located in the Bangsamoro region where the culture was different.
It can be recalled that Shaira was facing copyright issues after her song “Selos,” was noticed by netizens as almost the same with Australian singer Lenka’s “Trouble is a Friend,”
