OPM Legend Jim Paredes surprised the netizens with the new music video he uploaded as part of the celebration of the 37th-anniversarry of EDSA People Power Revolution.
Paredes shared the remake of EDSA anthem ‘Handog ng Pilipino sa Mundo’ that he performed with other artists who were known supporters of the opposition.
Aside from Paredes himself, other artists including Boboy Garrovillo, The Company, Bituin Escalante, Noel Cabangon, Pinky Marquez, Celeste Legaspi, and Mitch Valdez performed the said anthem.
The video also showed several celebrities like the Magalona siblings Elmo and Arkin, Gab Pangilinan, Bodjie Pascua, Raul Montesa, Audie Gemora, Precious Paula Nicole, Brigiding and Tita Baby.
Some children singing some of the song’s lines were also featured.
“A remake of the iconic EDSA anthem of 1986 written by Jim Paredes. This time old veterans and millennials do the song with a modern arrangement, video treatment, and a fresh new rendition with a rap portion,” the video caption reads.
Netizens couldn’t stop their emotion after hearing the remake of the song.
Paredes was one of the popular figures who joined People Power and he urged the netizens to remember the spirit of EDSA.
“May the Filipino people cherish this glorious moment in our history. May the spirit of EDSA live on.” Paredes said.
