Even Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III couldn’t hide his amazement over the explanation of Leyte 4th District Representative Lucy Torres-Gomez on the anti-terror bill.
On his Twitter page, Sotto, a principal author of the controversial measure informed Senator Ping Lacson about the post of Gomez, explaining to the netizens why the anti-terror bill is already necessary.

Other Twitter users also praised the lawmaker for her Facebook post that reached more than 40,000 shares on social media.
A netizen said that Torres-Gomez bravely defended the bill despite the unpopular support it received from celebrities and student groups.

However, there are still some people who were not convinced by the explanation of the lawmaker.
“Lucy Torres probably have not heard of aeta Edgar Candule who was branded as terrorist and whose case was dismissed and was never compensated as per HSA. Candule’s story is just one of the many stories of being red/terrorist tagged by the state. Konting reality check naman,” netizen @soltaule said.
Taule was referring to the case of Candule who was accused of being a member of the New People’s Army and was put under the custody of the authorities for almost three years.
