In a Facebook post, JP Abecilla proclaimed that Starbucks Philippines lost a loyal customer after he had an experience with one of the coffee shop’s baristas.

According to JP, he tried to correct the barista several times to ensure that they would write his name correctly.

“When it was my turn, the barista asked for my name (as usual) and wrote it on the cup,” said Abecilla.

“When he set the cup down, I saw it read “Jade.” I corrected him, saying it should be “JP.” No apology, he crumpled the cup and grabbed a new one. I even spelled out the initials: It’s JP, J for Juliet and P for Papa, JP,” he added.

However, when it was already his turn to receive his coffee, he realized that they mispelled his name again from JP to JC.

“I waited for my order. A few minutes passed, and I heard a barista call out in an unpleasant tone: “Café Americano for JC!” he wrote.

“I didn’t react. It wasn’t my name. I assumed someone else had a similar order. But after several more minutes and the addition of a Cinnamon Danish to the tray, I started to wonder. Still, “JC” was being called, repeatedly and coldly, with no one stepping up,” he added.

JP then decided to leave the coffee shop without claiming his order because of frustration and disappointment.

The post received mixed reactions from the netizens.
