Convoy of Sen. Raffy Tulfo’s son, Rep. Ralph Tulfo flagged for using the bus lane

The convoy of Senator Raffy Tulfo’s son, Quezon City 2nd District Representative Ralph Wendel Tulfo, was flagged by the members of the Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (SAICT) along EDSA.

According to SAICT, the vehicle was part of a convoy and used an ordinary plate number, but it displayed a sticker and Congress seal.

They issued a ticket to the convoy and eventually rejoined its group

SAICT reminded the public that bus lanes can only be exclusively used by:

  • LTFRB-authorized buses for the EDSA busway route, including buses with special permits and/or franchises to operate on the EDSA busway route;
  • on-duty ambulances, fire trucks, and Philippine National Police vehicles;
  • service vehicles performing their duties for the EDSA Busway Project, including but not limited to construction, security, janitorial, and maintenance services within the EDSA Busway; and
  • the following officials in the country: President of the Philippines, Vice President of the Philippines, Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court.

First offenders would be charged P5,000 while repeating the same violation would face bigger fines and possible suspension or revokation of license.

Meanwhile, Rep. Tulfo has yet to give a statement on what happened.
