PNP, ipapatawag si Sampaguita Girl bilang parte ng imbestigasyon

The Philippine National Police (PNP) was set to summon the viral Sampaguita vendor, Jen, as part of the Civil Security Group’s (CSG) investigation of the confrontation between the latter and a mall security guard.

Jen would be summoned after the security guard and his agency attended the ‘clarificatory meeting.

CSG spokesperson Lt. Col. Eudisan Gultiano said they would try to get Jen’s side as part of the investigation.

“Tinitingnan po natin dito ay kung nagampanan ng security guard nang maayos at tama ang kanyang duty sa pagtupad ng kanyang tungkulin bilang isang security guard,” said Guiltiano.

According to Guiltiano, if Jen didn’t give any affidavit, they would base their investigation on the statements made by the security guard.

CSG said that if they found that the security guard disobeyed the rules of his duty, his license may be suspended or revoked.

“‘Yon kasi ang nakalagay sa batas natin, sa RA 11917, na at all times, ang ating mga security guard ay dapat maging courteous and respectful in the performance of their duty,” Guiltiano explained.

It can be recalled that on December 17, 2024, a mallgoer recorded the confrontation between Jen and the security guard, showing how the officer forced the vendor to leave the vicinity of the mall.

The video only went viral this month, resulting in the mall’s dismissal of the security guard.

Jen said she was not planning to file any charges to the security guard and even apologized after she learned he had lost his job.

“Gusto ko po humingi ng sorry sa kanya, and at the same time hindi ko po ginusto na matanggal siya sa trabaho,” she said.

Meanwhile, the security guard apologized to Jen and explained that he was only carried by his emotions during the incident.
