Actress Rosanna Roces expressed her support for the mall security guard who was recently fired after his confrontation with a Sampaguita vendor went viral on social media.
In her Facebook post, Rosanna asked her friend, Morly Alinio, to find the security guard and promised to help him.
Rosanna even said the incident may encourage illegal vendors and street dwellers to resist security personnel.
According to her, she would support the guard as he was the one work legally.
“TULUNGAN natin si Guard..kawawa may pamilya yan,” said Osang. “Pahanap nu’ng Guard Morly Alinio tutulungan ko ‘yan. Magiging precedent ‘yan babastusin na lahat ng Guard na ginagawa lang ang trabaho nila.”
“Dun tayo sa Guard..nagta-trabaho ng Legal yan hindi nagpapanggap na guard lang. No to palimos at iba pang uri ng pangloloko!” she added.
It can be recalled that the sampaguita vendor, who was wearing a high school uniform, was discovered to be a 22-year-old college student already.
Meanwhile, Redeye II Management, the security agency handling the guard, was already investigating the incident.
PNP was also set to summon the security guard.
“We sincerely apologize for the actions displayed in the video and assure everyone that we are already conducting due process with the guard involved,” the security agency statement read.
“May this serve as a reminder to all agencies of the values we must uphold in performing our duties. It is crucial to prioritize de-escalation and avoid letting emotions take control of our actions.”
