One of the vocalists of the legendary OPM band Aegis shared her current condition with her fans after she underwent lung surgery.
In a video, Mercy Sunot addressed her fans on social media and informed them that she was currently in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after her lung operation.
Mercy shared that she was experiencing breathing difficulties after the operation, which her doctors are now treating.
The singer was visibly having difficulties to talk, but still did all her best to address her fans who were waiting for her to perform again.
“Tapos na ‘yung surgery ko sa lungs. Pero biglang nahirapan akong huminga. So dinala ako sa ICU. Tapos ngayon, may inflammation ‘yung lungs ko so ginagawan na nila ng paraan… Steroids ang pinainom sa akin ng doctor para sa inflammation,” she said.
“‘Pag-pray niyo ko na matatapos ‘tong pagsubok na ‘to. ‘Pag-pray niyo ako.” she added.
Based on her caption, Mercy was currently facing breast and lung cancer.
Mercy, together with her bandmates, popularized timeless OPM songs like Halik, Luha, and Sayang na Sayang.
They also became popular with their Christmas Jingles, such as the Christmas Bonus.
The band was still active and performing, but the absence of Mercy during their gigs may affect their performances.
