Labubu was only one of the characters created by Chinese artist Kasing Lung. His other creations were Zimomo, Tycoco, Spooky, and Pato. However, Filipinos called all the toys made by Kasing Lung Labubu.

Due to its popularity, theories on why Labubu suddenly became popular circulated on social media, including the one shared by Cathleen.

In the said Facebook post, Labubu allegedly symbolized the devil.

“Every Labubu you own brings you one step closer to owning a piece of Hell itself. These mischievous little devils aren’t just figurines or toys, they’re known to be Lucifer’s favorite companions, feeding on the souls of the damned,” the post read.

“Rumor has it, those who collect enough Labubus may find themselves visited by the real deal. And trust us, when Labubu shows up, it’s hungry… for souls,” it added.

Cathleen, who was a full-fledged Christian, told her followers to be ‘vigilant.’

However, not all netizens were amused by Cathleen’s warning, especially those Labubu collectors.

It can be recalled that most fads in the country were being connected by some groups to the devil, which includes the Labubu trend.
