Supporters of the Yulo family expressed their support amid the decision of a powdered drink brand to recognize Filipino pole-vaulter EJ Obiena after his 2024 Paris Olympics campaign.

It can be recalled that netizens discussed the brand’s decision to organize a homecoming to EJ instead of one of its longest ambassadors, two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo.

However, the brand also didn’t evade criticism from some Carlos supporters, who accused it of supporting a ‘toxic family culture’ for not inviting the Filipino gymnast during the homecoming.

Some netizens who defended the brand believed that it was the right decision for them to distance themselves from Carlos amid his family issues.

They believed that the brand promotes traditional Filipino values, which Carlos was allegedly not practicing as he refused to meet his family after winning two gold medals at the last Olympics.

As of writing the said brand has yet to give any statement of why they didn’t invite Carlos during the homecoming.
