Actress Carmi Martin disclosed why she decided to pursue a career in television instead of focusing on movie projects.
In an interview with Snooky Serna, Carmi said that during the ’80s, she experienced several indecent proposals from producers.
It even reached the point that they wanted her to become more ‘daring’ with her roles and do frontal nudity.
“Meron akong mga invitation na ganyan during that time, kasi nga ang seksi ko, e. And may mga producers din na talagang gustong nag-ano, nag-try na mag-take advantage sa akin, to the point na tinulak ko,” she said.
Carmi then pushed to pursue a career in television because it was better regulated than movies.
Snooky then called it a ‘Producer’s Touch,’ a term for celebrities who became popular by following their producers’ desires.
Fortunately, Carmi’s television career became successful, and she became part of several shows on major television networks.
Since 1976, Carmi never lost a project on television. Not even the pandemic stopped her from working.
