Veteran actress Rita Avila shared that she also experienced being taken advantage of by a well-known director during her early days as an actress.
In her Facebook post, Rita said she was still not an actress when she met the director.
She then claimed that the said director tried to ‘sell’ her to a producer while also trying to take advantage of her innocence at that same time.
“Hindi pa ako artista noon ay may nakilala akong direktor na ‘binebenta’ ako sa producer. Sabay nananamantala din itong direktor na ito. Pilit humahalik kadiri. Nakakatakot,” said Rita.
“Nagsumbong ako sa nanay ko pero parang wala lang sa kanya. Yun pala ay naaabutan siya. Minsan ay sa sarili ko pang cousin in law niya ako tinulak. Mabuti na lang ay nakaiwas ako. Kahiya-hiya,” she added,
She also shared the lessons to her followers.
“Kanya-kanyang kapalaran at paglalakbay sa buhay. May mga taong gagawa ng MALI sa atin, tayo man ay may gagawing MALI dahil di pa natin alam ang gagawin,” she stated.
“Ngunit sa huli, tayo ay mamumulat, matututo at makikilala ang mga sarili. Yun ang mahalaga,” she added.
It can be recalled that several directors and higher-ups in the showbiz industry were currently facing controversies after some artists confessed about the mistreatment they received.
