Singer and television host Ogie Alcasid admitted that he was not happy when he discovered that his daughter, Leila, decided to live with his boyfriend, Curtis Smith.
During one of the episodes of It’s Showtime, Ogie engaged in a topic raised during the segment, EXpecially For You, about parents who opposed their children to live with their partners.
According to Ogie, he also experienced being left by his daughter, who is his child, to his former wife, Michelle van Eimeren.
However, the singer came to realize that his daughter was no longer a child and that she could now make her own decisions.
“Hanggang sa sinabi ko, ‘Alam n’yo, masama ang loob ko sa inyo na nagawa n’yo yan. Pero gayunpaman, kayo ay nag-a-adulting na, gawin n’yo ‘yan, bahala na kayo sa buhay n’yo,’” he said.
Ogie said that parents could only guide their children and must always be ready to welcome them if they ever make a mistake.
