The life of Bamban Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo became one of the top topics this year on social media due to her mysterious background.
It can be recalled that Guo was facing an investigation because she may have been a Chinese citizen instead of a Filipino.
Suspiciousness about Guo’s life was fueled by her admission that she couldn’t remember her past and was born poor despite declaring that she had a network of more than P300 M.
According to an article published by the Philippine Entertainment Portal, several producers were asked if they were interested in making a movie out of Guo’s life story, but they were currently hesitant due to the unpopularity of the public official.
They also doubt if a movie about Guo would be profitable.
Meanwhile, the article also disclosed that an actress wanted to portray Guo and even described it as one of her “dream roles.”
However, some believed that a movie about Guo could not be made unless the investigation into her real identity had already been concluded.
Many netizens compared Guo’s life to a common plot of Filipino movies.
Guo claimed that her mother was a nanny who had a relationship with her father, who’s also the latter’s employer.
The public official also said that she grew up in a poor family and only discovered that her father was a rich businessman in China later on.
