Miss Universe Philippines 2022 Celeste Cortesi captured the attention of the netizens after she published a cryptic post after the announcement of Miss Universe Philippines 2024 winners.
Through Instagram and X, Celeste expressed her confusion about the prestigious event held last Wednesday.
“WHAT JUST HAPPENED #muph2024,” Celeste, who broke the top 16 streaks of the country in the Miss Universe pageant, wrote.
Some netizens interpreted Celeste’s post as a way of expressing her disappointment over the result of the winners.
Pageant fans quickly defended Miss Universe Philippines’ result to Celeste.
“Yung nakaputol ng streak sa MU, wag na mag comment sana chariz,” netizen Kolo said.
“May kakilala ako na nagwork sa MUPH during her reign, sabi nya panget talaga ugali ni Celeste. Kaya hindi ganun binigyan ng time sa stage nung MUPH 2023 Coronation. Hindi rin sumusunod sa contract ng sponsors. For example, may jeweler sponsor sila pero ayaw suotin yung jewelry dahil may sarili daw sya tapos magpopost sa IG pero idedelete or archive nya after few days. Tapos ayaw din magrehearse, etc,” netizen Nai remarked.
“Hay naku, Celeste! Deserving ang nanalo! Actually mas questionable yung pagka panalo mo nung MUPH 2022, kaya ayun naging clapper ka lang,” netizen Holi commented.
Bulacan’s Chelsea Manalo won the Miss Universe Philippines 2024, surpassing 52 other candidates from different parts of the Philippines.
Other winners are Stacey Gabriel from Cainta; Ma. Ahtisa Manalo from Quezon Province; Tarah Valencia of Baguio; and Christi Lynn McGarry from Taguig.
