Model Deniece Cornejo’s father, Mr. Paul “Dennis” Cornejo, was not happy with the conviction received by his daughter from the charges filed by television host Vhong Navarro.
In an interview by Pep. Mr. Cornejo, who’s already living in America, insisted that he never raised his daughter to become a ‘gold digger’ like what the public called Deniece.
It can be recalled that during the infamous condo incident, Deniece and businessman Cedric Lee were charged with conspiring to ask Vhong for money in exchange for his freedom in 2014.
However, Mr. Cornejo said that his daughter could not become consumed by money as he provided enough for Deniece.
“Pinalaki ko si Deniece nang maayos. Sinasabi nila gold digger si Deniece? No! I am working for 22 years,” he said.
“Maganda ang savings ko. Nagtrabaho ako sa barko, lahat sila nabibigyan ko ng maayos na pamumuhay,” he added.
He also admitted that he sometimes responded to netizens publishing negative comments about his daughter.
“Kapag nakita ko na maling-mali yung mga sinasabi nila, dun lalong sumasama ang loob ko kasi gusto kong ma-correct. Mali, e. Diyan ako mahina. Alam ko naman na hindi ko dapat basahin, pero naghahanap kasi ako ng taong makakaintindi. Na fair yung comment niya kasi yun ang nagpapagaan ng kalooban ko,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Deniece maintained her innocence and planned to appeal the sentence against her.
