In her entry, Antonette posed with Mary, mother of Jesus-inspired costume, as part of her participation in the trend.

However, not all netizens were delighted by Antonette’s costume, especially the Catholic devotees who believed that she was being disrespectful.

“Bakit ginagamit nila ung imahe ng saint eh di nmn akma s knilang pgakatao!? Just be honest, kahit content lng yan, have some respect kahit man lang sa sarili,” netizen Carina said.

“Saint Antonette!

Aside from her Piliin mo ang Pilipinas entry, Antonette also received criticism for his Asoka costume entry, saying that she committed cultural appropriation.

According to some netizens, Antonette wear an Indian bridal dress inappropriately.

“Indian bridal dress is elegant hindi po ganyan kita ang dibdib sana nmn kng gagawa ng content pg aralan ng mabuti kng di ba mkaka insulto ng isang kultura,” a netizen said.
