Being visited by authorities was already common when it came to social media influencer and entrepreneur Deo Jarito Balbuena, popularly known as Diwata.
In fact, Diwata became viral in 2016 after he was put under the custody of the authorities after being involved in a commotion involving his friends.
Since his street food business became popular, Diwata has also been visited several times by different agencies.
But on April 18, 2024, Diwata faced one of the biggest challenges of his life as he was almost put behind bars due to a warrant served against him.
According to the records from the authorities, Diwata received a complaint from Rogelio Magallanes, a construction worker.
Rogelio accused Diwata of using a bamboo stick against him during a confrontation that happened under the bridge of Diokno Boulevard in Pasay City, the same place where the social media celebrity lived and built his Paresan business.
Diwata quickly posted bail worth P3,000 to gain his temporary freedom. But it’s still not yet known if Rogelio would still pursue the charges against the businessman who’s also now part of ABS-CBN’s Batang Quiapo.
As of writing, Diwata has yet to give a statement on the issue.
