The Philippine National Police (PNP) confirmed that dismissed Police Maj. Allan de Castro, the primary suspect in the disappearance of beauty queen Catherine Camilon was already not under their custody anymore.
According to Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Benjamin Acorda Jr., they already ordered security arrangements to ensure that Camilon’s family was safe.
“We are in constant coordination with the local police, especially the regional director of Calabarzon, to make the necessary arrangements and security measures,” he said.
He explained that they were no longer allowed to hold De Castro as he was already dismissed from service.
It can be recalled that De Castro had an affair with Camilon, and they were supposed to meet on October 12, 2023, the day of the beauty queen’s disappearance.
As of writing, De Castro refused to give any information on his knowledge about Camilon’s disappearance.
Meanwhile, authorities were still hopeful that Camilon was still alive, but they were also prepared for the worst-case scenario.
“We are hoping for the best, but we are expecting the [worst]. Hindi po namin masabi kung wala na po talaga, pero base po sa account ng witnesses namin, it appears na ‘yun na nga po, wala na po,” PNP said.
