Interested? An island in Cagayan was being advertised online to find potential wealthy clients to buy the whole place.
In his Facebook post, real estate agent Jomar Corpuz announced that Dalupiri, an island part of the Babuyan Archipelago, was up for sale.
He asked the netizens to find a rich client to buy the whole island for 12 billion pesos.
According to Corpuz, they have a complete document to prove that they have the right to sell the whole island legally to potential buyers.
The whole island is 5000 hectares and is surrounded by beaches.
621 people are also living on the said island, that’s why several netizens questioned the legitimacy of Corpuz’s offer.
A netizen also believed that Dalupiri was classified as a Marine Reserve and prohibited from being sold to anyone.
“Protected yan ng batas papanong nangyari na binebenta yan? Ung Fortune Island ni leviste hanggang ngayon di magalaw at di madevelop kahit nabili nya na. kasi di naman pwedeng ibenta yan. Yang ganayang kalaking island is classified as Marine Reserve under Proclamation 1801,” netizen Ariel Zamora said.
As of writing, the local government of Cagayan has yet to confirm whether the said island is really for sale.
