TAPE Inc. bigong mag-apela sa trademark rights ng Eat Bulaga

Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc. failed to secure a successful appeal to the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) over the trademark ownership of the Eat Bulaga title.

According to TVJ Productions Chairman Tito Sotto, TAPE’s appeal was quickly dismissed, which means that the government officially recognized TVJ as the trademark owner of Eat Bulaga branding.

โ€œAppeal of tape re eat bulaga IPC class 41 dismissed! The People recognized TVJ as Eat Bulaga! Now, GOVT officially recognizes them as such. The others are exponents of sham,โ€ said Sotto.

Several experts believed that the ruling made by IPOPHL would also influence the decision on the copyright infringement complaint filed by TVJ against TAPE before the Marikina Court.

As of writing, TAPE has yet to give any statement about their next legal move after IPOPHL’s rejection.

Meanwhile, netizens celebrated the latest victory of TVJ against their former production company.

“Congrats to TVJ and to the dabarkads Tito Sen…kudos also to DivinaLaw for a job well done magaling talaga. Just be humble in victory and that’s where I admire Bossing Vic,” netizen @arvpasc70 said.

“Baka po hindi na ubra ang pagiging mabait nyo this time. Kapalmuks na ng kabila. Patigasan ng mukha. Basta kami legit dabarkada orig Eat Bulaga lang sa tanghalian,” netizen Charmed commented.
