The wife of Juan Jumalon, also known as ‘DJ Johnny Walker,’ said that her husband won a land dispute before his passing.
In an interview, Cherebel Jumalon said two cases were connected to his 94.7 Calamba Gold FM radio station.
According to her, the first case was about her rivalry with another radio station in Calamba.
The second was the land dispute of the lot where his home and studio were located.
“‘Yung sa radio station, sa lot namin nagfile kami ng case ng falsification of public documents dun sa [Regional Trial Court-Oroquieta], ‘yung nagfile ‘yung husband ko kasi po ‘yung lupa namin dito ‘yung nakapirma sa deed of sale puro matagal nang namatay,” Mrs. Jumalon said.
She also believed that no one would try to take away her husband’s life because of her show because it was only purely entertainment, and didn’t criticize anyone on his program.
“Sa kanyang programa is purely entertainment lang, basa ng greetings ng text messages sa mga kaibigan at public service and endorse ng herbal products. Hindi siya nag ko komentaryo against sa mga tao, talagang plain entertainment lang,” she said.
“Friendly ang husband ko, ang mga politicians ay friend niya…matagal na siyang broadcaster,” she added.
Meanwhile, the authorities have yet to find the persons of interest behind the incident.
