Comedian Michael V. recollected one of the biggest challenges he faced during his career after being summoned by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) in 2013.
In his Instagram post, Michael posted the notice sent to him by MTRCB, who addressed him as the creative director of Bubble Gang.
“THROWBACK to when things got real for the Gang,” said Michael.
“We learn. We adapt. We persevere,” he added.
Michael shared the photo amid the active actions done by MTRCB against several noontime shows, including It’s Showtime and Eat Bulaga.
It can be recalled that MTRCB summoned Michael after they expressed their concern over one of the segments of Bubble Gand titled “D Adventures of Susie Luwalhati,” which allegedly shows a ‘derogatory portrayal of a woman.’
In the said show, Michael was seen with one of his co-hosts, Ruffa Mae Quinto, portraying Susie Luwalhati, wearing a revealing outfit.
GMA Network met with MTRCB after they received the warning and vowed to improve the show.
“On the next few days, Bubble Gang openly agrees to have meetings with MTRCB to raise awareness on certain issues. In addition, GMA will implement a series of talks for Bubble Gang/Entertainment comedy group,” said GMA.
