Officials of the government-owned station PTV-4 were confident that they would become the number-one network in the country within the next few years.
During the Senate hearing for the budget of Presidential Communications Office (PCO) PTV General Manager Ana Puod said that it was possible for them to become the number two network in the country, surpassing TV5.
She also estimated that within the next few years, PTV would also surpass GMA Network.
“So far, the goal next year is to become number 2. Conservatively, yun po ang gusto naming ma-achieve and hopefully within the next few years po mag-number 1 ang PTV sa lahat ng TV stations sa buong Pilipinas,” said Puod.
However, to achieve the said feat, Puod said that they needed an additional budget to upgrade the transmitters of PTV4 from transmitter to digital like other networks.
Puod said that they need around P128.914-M to fund the said projects.
“In order to create good content, we need capital, creatives, equipment, ideas, and kailangan po nating tapatan ng konting gastos para ma-achieve po yun,” she stated.
“We need to build our own broadcast complex na pwede pong tumapat sa, kung kaya po, if we can fund it, Warner Bros. or Universal Studios,” she added.
