Netizen defends Tito Sotto and Helen Gamboa from It’s Showtime fans: ‘Magkaiba ang lust at love’

Several netizens defended E.A.T host Tito Sotto from the criticisms he received from It’s Showtime fans after the smooching incident that happened between the former senate president and his wife Helen Gamboa during the 44th-anniversary episode of their show.

Several It’s Showtime fans through social media, asked the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) headed by Tito’s daughter, Lala Sotto to investigate the alleged misconduct done by the veteran host.

The fans of the Kapamilya noontime show compared Vice Ganda and Ion Perez’s actions to Tito and Helen’s gesture, saying that if MTRCB investigated the two ABS-CBN hosts, they should also do the same to the E.A.T host.

They even said that they would assume that Lala was defending her father if MTRCB would block any efforts to investigate the former lawmaker.

However, some netizens believed that It’s Showtime fans should not compare the actions done by the two couples, arguing that Tito and Helen were married for 52 years already.

“They serve such an inspiration to all of us na may forever,” netizen Norma said.

“Totally different scenario. Kay Sen. Tito maganda yun dahil pinapakita nya na kahit may edad na ay sobrang love na love nya asawa nya. Pero kina Vice ang sagwa,” netizen Bryan remarked.

“So sad.. the world doesn’t know the difference between lust and love,” netizen Bunso commented.

As of writing, MTRCB has yet to give any response to the request of It’s Showtime fans.
