Eat Bulaga co-host Isko Moreno said they already expected their competitor ‘E.A.T’ to lead the rating contest last July 1.
In an interview with Boy Abunda, Moreno said there’s a valid reason why the noontime show consisted of former Eat Bulaga hosts, including Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto and Joey de Leon.
According to Moreno, the drama between TVJ and Television and Production Exponents Inc. contributed greatly to the popularity of ‘E.A.T.’
“Well, that’s understandable because there’s so much hype, drama happened in the past weeks and day,” Moreno said.
“Now, if there will be buffet like in this case, lalabas lahat ng galing ng mga artista kasi may kumpitensiya,” he added.
Moreno also believed that they’re not planning to compete with ‘E.A.T’ and ‘It’s Showtime,’ saying that having more noontime shows was considered a victory for the televiewers.
“We should be proud na panalo dito ngayon ‘yung viewers so magtulungan tayo. So, marami na ngayong options. Marami nang opportunity at gaganda na ‘yung noontime shows para sa viewers,” he stated.
It can be recalled that TV5’s newest noontime show dominated the rating contest last Saturday on both social media and television.
Nielsen, NUTAM Overnights Data, indicated that TVJ’s E.A.T gained an 8.4% average program rating and also reached 11.86% during its peak minute.
It also reached an 8.2-M audience during its almost 3 hours of airing on July 1.
