The controversy being faced by basketball player Ricci Rivero after admitting his breakup with Andrea Brillantes was one of the most discussed topics nationwide this week.
Ricci on June 10, 2023, admitted that he already ended his relationship with Andrea, fueling the speculations that the basketball player was already dating someone else.
Some netizens also accused Ricci of cheating on Andrea during their well-publicized relationship.
Los Baños councilor Leren Mae Bautista has been speculated by netizens as the new girlfriend of Ricci after he was spotted several times with the former beauty queen.
The rumors even became more clear after Ricci spent his 25th birthday with Leren Mae instead of Andrea.
In the photos posted by Leren Mae, Ricci can be seen distributing food to the citizens of Los Baños.
“Happy Birthday @ricciiirivero! Thank you for spending your birthday here in Los Baños. We appreciate your love and generosity to give back to our people. Mabuhay ka!” the councilor said.
Aside from spending time together with Leren Mae, Ricci also reposted some social media posts by the councilor.
It can be remembered that Andrea’s close friend, Awra Briguela already took a swipe against Ricci, calling the basketball player a cheater.
As of writing, Andrea has yet to give any statement over her breakup with Ricci.
