Arnold Clavio reacted to the statement made by Vice President Sara Duterte against House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
It can be recalled that Duterte denied that Romualdez tried to convince her to run for the higher office.
“Speaker Martin Romualdez had absolutely nothing to do with my decision to run for Vice President. To say that he “tremendously helped in pushing for” my Vice President is acutely inaccurate,” she said.
However, in his Instagram post, Arnold posted a video in 2022, where Duterte can be seen praising Romualdez and recognizing the contribution of the House Speaker in her campaign.

“Pero makailang oras lang , kaagad kumalat ang isang video , na kuha sa oath-taking ceremony sa Leyte ni Romualdez bilang 1st District Representative sa RTR Gymnasium in Tacloban City noong June 15, 2022. Sa video pinupuri ni Duterte ang naging malaking papel ni Romualdez sa kanyang kampanya at pagkapanalo noong nagdaang eleksyon.” Clavio wrote.
“Tila ang mensahe ay ang madaling pagkalimot ng Bise Presidente. May dapat ba tayong pagtakhan dito ? Sa politika , walang permanenteng kaibigan o kaaway , kundi permanenteng interes lamang.” he added.
Clavio even suspected that Duterte and Romualdez have both ambitions to run for higher office.
“Ang maliwanag – parehong may ambisyon ang dalawang lider ng bansa na pumalit kay PBBM sa 2027 . Hmmmm.” he said.
