Raquel Pempengco not impressed with Morisette and David Foster: “No goosebumps, no standing ovation”

Jake Zyrus’ mother Raquel Pempengco was not impressed with the performance of Canadian musician David Foster and Asia’s Phoenix Morisette Amon during a concert held by the international artist at Solaire resorts.

During the concert, Morisette sang the song of Whitney Houston, including ‘I Will Always Love You’ which was produced by David.

However, Raquel compared the performance of Morisette to Jake who’s known formerly as Charice Pempengco.

Charice and David worked many times during the height of popularity of the Filipina singer before deciding to become a transman.

According to Raquel, no one could replace Charice even Morisette.

She even claimed that David was not the reason why Charice became an international singer and even said that the Canadian singer rejected her daughter.

“Alam ko ang mga timbre ng boses na hinahanap mo DF (David Foster).. Sinabi ko naman sa inyo noon pa… nag iisa lang ang boses na yan. Kahit kanino mo pa ipakanta yang song mo.. Di mabibigyan ng hustisya,” Raquel said.

“NO GOOSEBUMPS.. NO STANDING OVATION.. Nothing compares…. Nag iisang legendary ng Pilipinas si Charice Pempengco at para sa kaalaman ng lahat. Hindi po si DF ang nagpasikat sa kanya kundi si OPRAH. Nireject nga noon ni DF si Charice. Kaya wag umasa na may isasama pa… Masasaktan lang,” she added.

As of writing, David and Morisette have yet to give any comment on the post of Raquel.
